PTA Announcement – National Teacher Appreciation Week

Posted Monday, April 30th, 2012 by Miss Molzahn

Dear Lakeview Parents and Students,

The week of May 7th-May 11th is National Teacher Appreciation Week.  We have many activities planned to honor our wonderful teachers and staff here at Lakeview School.  We would like to include the children with some no- or low-cost ideas to brighten their teacher’s day, and ensure a special week.

We have made a schedule of things that are happening each day.  What a surprise for their teachers if we can have 100% participation!

Monday, May 7th: Wear your classroom colors (college wear) and “HIGH FIVE” all your teachers to start the week.  PTA will provide a danish, coffee cake,  and sweet roll breakfast for our teachers and staff.

Tuesday, May 8th: Please give a card or handmade note to your teacher to let him or her know how he or she has helped you learn this school year.  PTA will provide a cold sandwich luncheon for the teachers and staff.

Wednesday, May 9th: Please bring a piece of fruit for your teacher.  PTA will provide each teacher with a basket to be filled with the fruit received from their students.  What a ‘sweet’ gift for all of our ‘sweet’ teachers!

Thursday, May 10th: Wear YOUR TEACHER’S favorite color to school.  At the beginning of the week make sure you ask your teacher what their favorite color is!

Friday, May 11th: Write a poem for your teacher, or favorite staff member, to show how much you appreciate them.  PTA will provide a bagel and cream cheese breakfast for teachers and staff.

Thank you in advance for your participation in making this a great week for our students, staff, and teachers!!!

From, The PTA Teacher Appreciation Committee

Lakeview PTA will be hosting our annual Campus Cookout for staff and students during lunch on Wednesday, May 30th.  We will be serving ALL BEEF HOT DOGS*, CHIPS, and a BEVERAGE to all students and staff.  (*Veggie sandwiches may be substituted for those unable to have hot dogs.)

If you have no objection to your child receiving a hot dog, chips, and a beverage for lunch on Wednesday, May 30th, please DO NOT return the form that is being sent home with students today.

We ask if you do not wish for your child to receive an all beef hot dog for lunch, please fill out the form being sent home today and return it to school with your child.

Attention 5th and 6th Grade Families!

Posted Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 by Miss Molzahn

Spring Fling is an end-of-year paryt for the 5th and 6th graders of Lakeview.  This is not a PTA event.  Spring Fling is paid for, organized by, and run by the parents and families of 5th and 6th graders.  If everyone contributes even the smallest bit, it will be greatly appreciated!

A committee needs to be formed with at least two Co-Chairs for the event.  There is a lot of preparation and planning to make Spring Fling a great success for our students.

If you would like to assist in the planning of Spring Fling for this year’s 5th and 6th graders, please join us in the Teacher’s Lounge on February 21st, from 7:00-8:00 pm.  We will begin planning, select a Chair Person, and hear some interesting ideas.

Please contact Angie Hosp, 847-882-1606, if you are interested in helping plan for Spring Fling and if you will be able to attend the meeting on February 21st.
