Warm Wishes from Mrs. Rosenblum and Mrs. Weir

Dear Lakeview Families,

Thank you to all of the families who joined us last week for the 5th Grade Musical: Hats! It means so much to the students to have their family’s support. They worked very hard to prepare for their performance, and the joy and accomplishment they felt was certainly apparent as they entertained us all! Hats off to Mr. Childers, who did a fantastic job of helping the students prepare.

Our students continue to focus on being curious, determined, and reflective in order to grow as learners. Each classroom teacher has an area in their room dedicated to our Lakeview Learner Commitments, and this helps our students to keep these characteristics top of mind as they engage in their academic work each day. In one of our fourth grade classrooms, the teacher has created a bulletin board where students can show case ways in which they have exhibited the various learner commitments by writing their actions on a whiteboard and taking a picture. What a great way to motivate students to continue to demonstrate curiosity, determination, and reflectiveness.

Winter break is a time to relax and enjoy time with the family. This can also be a great time to foster a love of reading for pleasure. We are encouraging families to find books to love – stop by the local library or check out the books your child brought home from school.

We hope you and your family make many special memories together over the break. Our last day of school before winter break is Thursday, December 21. We look forward to seeing you and students on Monday, January 8.
