Principal’s Message for January 29, 2019
As you have been notified from the district there will be NO school, Wednesday Jan. 30th AND Thursday, Jan. 31st due to the weather moving into the Chicagoland area. Please be safe these next few days and we will see everyone back in school on Friday, Feb. 1st.
Last week we had an all school assembly to kick off the 21 Day Challenge. During this assembly, our staff acted out a parable called The Orange Frog. This parable is based on positive psychology and focuses on creating a positive environment. The 21 Day Challenge is embedding positive tactics into our everyday life. We have been working on Acts of Kindness. The students have done a great job spreading random acts of kindness across Lakeview School.
A letter went home asking each family to send in a 100% cotton, white shirt for an upcoming all school tie dye activity. Please send $1.00 along with the shirt to help offset the cost of the tie dye materials. We are also taking donations of extra white shirts. Thank you!
Conference letters went home. Please RSVP and send the letter back to school. If the assigned time does not work for you, please contact your child’s teacher. All students are expected to attend conferences with their parents.
PTA Fun Food
The fun food scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31 will be now moved to Friday, Feb. 1.
