Principal’s Message from February 22, 2019
Celebrate Reading and Writing was a big success! It was so fun to see the students share their piece of writing with their families! The students were so proud of the award they wore that evening to show their accomplishment. Congratulations Lakeview students!
Thank you to the many families who attended Student-Led Conferences last week. It was wonderful to see our students taking ownership of their learning, sharing what they are proud of, and showing examples of their hard work. You are an important partner in your child’s education, and we are grateful for the support and encouragement you give at home!
We are very excited to announce that March will be designated Happiness Month across District 54! Lakeview is ready to make this our best month yet. According to Shawn Achor, the author of The Happiness Advantage, “When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. Staff and students will be participating in various activities to promote both individual, classroom and building Happiness. During the month, you may notice your students using language such as, “being orange” or “positive habits.” Make sure you ask them about their day. We look forward to an exciting month ahead!
