Principal’s Message for November 25th

Dear Lakeview,

It is with much gratitude that we write this message. We are truly thankful for the amazing Lakeview students, staff and community. Thank you, parents, for all you do to support your children: getting them to school on time, preparing lunches and snacks, helping with homework, and encouraging them to do their best every day. On behalf of the entire Lakeview staff, we want to wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving break; enjoy the time off with family and friends.  Reminder, there is no school on November 27, 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Tuesday, November 26 – Afterschool Clubs/TAP

There will be NO clubs meeting TOMORROW, Tuesday, Nov. 26th afterschool; this includes TAP.  All students will be dismissed at 3:00.

Winter MAP Testing

MAP testing begins after Thanksgiving break.  Below is the testing schedule:

Dec. 2 AND Dec. 5

Dec. 3 AND Dec. 6

Lunch Recess

As we enter into the winter months of our school year, please send the students to school dressed for the weather.  The students usually go out for lunch recess to get some fresh air unless the temperature is too dangerous.  Please dress them warm.  Students are allowed to play in the snow if they come to school with snow pants, boots, coats, hats and gloves.

Schaumburg Parent University – December classes

Schaumburg Parent University (SPU) is designed to involve more parents in the life of the school, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally. There are two evening programs scheduled for December. Please note that child care is always available.

Mad Isn’t Bad – December 5

Anger can interfere with your child’s academic performance. Dr. Felix Casados, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, will help you develop management skills, learn reduction techniques and rules for fair fighting. You will also learn strategies to reduce tension at home and at school and how to diffuse conflict and reduce anger expression in your children. This class will take place from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the District 54 Early Learning Center’s Multi-Purpose Room, 520 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Adults only. Mad Isn’t Bad flyer

Family Caroling – December 10

Join other District 54 families in caroling around the Lakeview School neighborhood and enjoying hot chocolate afterward. This activity, led by Lakeview music teacher Kelsey Richardson, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Meet at Lakeview, 615 Lakeview Lane, Hoffman Estates. Family Caroling flyer

La Universidad Schaumburg para Padres – Clases de diciembre

La idea de la Universidad para Padres es envolver más a los padres in la vida escolar, para fortalecer las relaciones familiares, y mejorar los conocimientos de crianza que finalmente resultarán en un mejor éxito académico, social y emocional del estudiante. Hay dos programas nocturnos para diciembre. El cuidado de niños está siempre disponible.

Enojarse no es malo – 5 de diciembre

El enojo/coraje puede interferir con el rendimiento académico de sus niños. El Dr. Felix Casados, psicólogo clínico con licencia, le ayudará a desarrollar habilidades, aprenderá estrategias de reducir el enojo y reglas para una pelea justa. Aprenderá a reducir la tensión en el hogar y en la escuela, así como a difundir el conflicto y reducir el comportamiento enojado. ¡A cantar villancicos! – 10 de diciembre

Únase a otras familias del Distrito 54 para cantar villancicos por el vecindario de la escuela Lakeview y luego disfrute de chocolate caliente. Este evento tendrá lugar de 6:30 a 7:30 p.m. el 10 de diciembre de 2019, en la escuela Lakeview, 615 Lakeview Lane, Hoffman Estates. ¡A cantar villancicos!
