Principal’s Message for May 22nd
It was great to see many of you picking up your child’s supplies this past week! The teachers loved seeing their students’ smiling faces. We have put a special gift from Lakeview School in the student supply bags. They are a pair of red sunglasses for each Lakeview student. It is our way of thanking the students for putting forth 100% effort this school year especially during V-Learning! Wear the sunglasses proudly over the summer.
Congratulations 3rd grade! You have focused on V-Learning and have worked very hard. Thank you for giving us 100% effort. WAY TO GO 3rd graders! You all have ROCKED THE DAY!
We are approaching the final week of our ABC count down. Next week we will be celebrating letters W-X-Y-Z. As the fun continues, don’t forget to post on our community google site.
2nd Grade and Non-Returning District 54 Students – Technology Return
Friday, May 29th from 9-11 ALL second graders, non-returning district 54 students and families who have a district 54 hotspot are to return their technology to Lakeview School. This includes ipads, chromebooks, chargers, cases and hot spots. Please place items in the trunk of your car. Lakeview staff will be in the parking lot for your arrival. Once you arrive, pop your trunk and the items will be removed. We need every 2nd grader to return their device to school.
School Supply Pick Up Last Chance
We still have a few families who have NOT picked up their children’s school supplies. If you want your child’s supplies, please come on Friday, May 29th from 9-11. Upon arrival have a sign of your child’s grade and last name. Lakeview Staff will retrieve the supplies and put in your trunk. All supplies that are not picked up will be discarded at the end of the day.
The last day that all students will be able to use Chromebooks and access Google is Friday, May 29th. Google Access will be shut off at 11:59 PM on May 29th.
We have attached an article our nurse wanted to share. It’s always good to have reminders on good nutrition.
PTA needs you! Please review the Committee Interest Form. PTA needs your help and expertise in making 2020-2021 a memorable year for our families! Please consider volunteering!

Grades and Report Cards
Report Cards will be available online within the District 54 Parent Portal starting June 2nd. An email will be sent to you once your child’s report card is available.
In accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education guidelines, report card grades for the third trimester will be designated as Pass or Incomplete. Final year end grades for students in fourth through eighth grade will reflect second trimester grades or higher as evaluated by student work across the third trimester.
We hope that all families will check the report cards and use the information to celebrate with their children their academic successes. We are all very proud of our students.
