Dear Parents,

We had a great week!  Our Club Unify students AND our Young Athletes participated in sporting events.   Both teams represented Lakeview and did an awesome job at the games!

ABC Countdown

We are continuing to have so much fun with the ABC countdown.  Here is next week’s letters and activities.

S – White Sox: Wear White Sox Apparel OR Black/White Colors

T – Twin Day: Dress the same as your class or teacher

U – USA Day: Dress in Red, White and Blue

V – Visit Day: Visit another teacher in the school

W – Wear your Field Day Theme – Hero

6th Grade Parents

You are invited on the last day of school to participate in our tradition of ending off our 6th graders.  If you can join us, please be at Lakeview at 1:50pm to begin promptly at 2:00pm.  Upon dismissal, the entire school will line up along the walls of Lakeview School.  At 2:00pm the 6th grade students will parade through the school walking the halls of Lakeview.  Students, staff and parents will be along the parade route to say goodbye and well wishes to our sixth graders as they pass by.  The 6th grade students will end in the gym with teachers and parents for a final social gathering until the 2:30 dismissal.   Bring your cameras!  If you are interested in joining us, come to the office, sign in and we will show you where to go.

End of Year Device Collection and Library Book Collection

We will be collecting all iPads, Chromebooks, chargers, hotspots and cases at the end of the year to be reimaged, cleaned up and redistributed in August. Now would be a good time to find chargers and cases that may have been stored away so they are easily accessible at the end of May.  If there are stickers on the devises we are asking you to have your child take them off to prepare them for turn in.  Also, we need all library books turned in before summer vacation.  Please find the ones at home and send them back to our library.

Summer Resources

It’s hard to believe that summer is already upon us! District 54 has some exciting opportunities for students to continue learning and maintaining their progress throughout the summer months!  To find out more specifics about our Summer Learning Quest, our Summer Reading Lists, and DreamBox click here! These activities are perfect to help sustain your child’s literacy and math skills over the summer or even to prevent boredom on a rainy day!

May 20: Field Day

Friday, May 20 will be field day. Students who ordered and paid for a popsicle will receive one on that day.

Ways to prepare your child for field day:

  • Apply sunscreen prior to sending your child to school
  • Dress them in comfortable clothes, a hat and gym shoes
  • Send them with a labeled water bottle and lunch (unless you ordered pizza)

Enjoy your weekend!
